These homemade yeast garlic knots are made from scratch with just a few simple ingredients – they use olive oil instead of butter, garlic, parsley and instant yeast. They are so fluffy, soft and flavorful.
Ingredients:
-2 1/2 Cups All-Purpose Flour
-2 Tsp Sugar
-1 Packet Instant Yeast (1/4 oz or 2 1/4 tsp)
-2 Tbsp Laconiko Extra Virgin Olive Oil
-1/2 Tsp Garlic Powder
-3/4 Tsp Salt
-1 Cup Warm Water (105°F-115°F)
GARLIC TOPPING:
-1/4 Cup Laconiko Extra Virgin Olive Oil (or Laconiko Garlic Olive Oil)
-3 Cloves Minced Garlic
-1 Tsp Dried Parsley (or 2 tbsp freshly chopped)
-1/8 Tsp Salt
Directions:
Step1. In a bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, instant yeast, garlic powder and salt.
Step2. Add the warm water and Laconiko Extra Virgin Olive Oil (Or Laconiko Garlic Olive Oil) and mix until combined. Add up to 1/3 cup more flour if needed if the dough is very sticky, it should be slightly sticky but workable with floured hands.
Step3. Oil a bowl with Laconiko Extra Virgin Olive Oil and place the dough inside. Cover and rest for 30 minutes until doubled.
Step4. In the meantime, mix together your garlic topping.
Step5. Punch out the air and transfer to a lightly floured surface. Roll into a 16×5 inch rectangle and cut into 9 pieces.
Step6. Roll each piece into an 8 inch rope and tie into a knot (using a little flour as needed). Place on a baking tray covered in parchment paper 2 inches apart. Brush each with 1/2 of the garlic topping mixture.
Step7. Preheat oven to 400°F and let knots rest as it preheats.
Step8. Bake for 13-17 minutes, or until they just begin to turn light golden brown.
Step9. Brush with remaining topping and enjoy fresh!
