2023 Health Claim Awards
We have the quality, but do we have the health claim behind our oils? The answer is an absolute YES!!
Quality and Health claim competitions are not one in the same. Quality Olive Oil competitions are judged for an oil’s sensory characteristics while Health Claim competitions are judged primarily for an oil’s phenolic content that have antioxidant properties (polyphenols). We are proud to offer and produce olive oils that are recognized for both!
We are honored to present not 1 but 3 New Health Claim Awards! All our estate oils are recognized at the 2023 ARISTOLEO Awards.
Laconiko EVOO – SILVER Award (containing a polyphenol count of 500 – 799 mg/kg)
Laconiko Olio Nuovo – GOLD Award (containing a polyphenol count of 800 – 1199 mg/kg)
Laconiko ZOI – DOUBLE GOLD Award (containing a polyphenol count of 1200 – 2000 mg/kg)
One of our most proud accomplishments, that we yearly strive to ensure, is that all our olive oils are as healthy as possible. Isn’t this one of the main reasons we all prefer to use olive oils after all? And isn’t it important that you know how healthy the olive oils you are using really are, especially when you know that the health aspect of an olive oil is something that can be measured? Not all olive oils offer the same health!
Everyone these days seems be looking for olive oils rich in polyphenols and every olive oil company is jumping on the bandwagon with claims that they have it, but very few companies will disclose their Certificate of Analysis (COA) and put it on display. Just mentioning that their olive oils are rich in polyphenol without the proof is not okay!
We want our customers to know that the olive oils you are consuming are truly healthy and it is important to show you how healthy our olive oils really are😊 Our Certificate of Analysis is available on our social media and our website for your reference.

Under the EU Regulation 432/2012 approved health claim, olive oils with 250 mg/kg of polyphenols or more contribute to the protection of blood lipids from oxidative stress, with the beneficial effect obtained with a daily intake of 20 g of olive oil. It is important to know that the beneficial effects of olive oil are dose dependent, thus an olive oil with a higher concentration of polyphenols requires a smaller intake for your daily healthy.
