Emily Lycopolus is a professional olive oil taster, olive oil sommelier, and creator of the Olive Oil Critic. With 15 years of experience in the olive industry, Emily has taught over 500 culinary students, and many more enthusiasts have been introduced to the world of olive oil. Frequently sought after to support olive producers, grocery retailers, and distributors, Emily will teach you how to understand every bottle of olive oil, share tips on tasting the differences between one olive oil and another, and how best to use each one and pair it with food and menu. Emily is an instructor at George Brown College's culinary school and the author of eight cookbooks. She is a winner of the GourmandWorld Cookbook Awards and the Taste Canada awards, and her books have been featured at Nobel House in Sweden. Her degree is in Life Science from Queen's University and an MA in Cultural Anthropology.
