Sauteed Shrimp in Laconiko Basil EVOO

INGREDIENTS:

  • Shrimp
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder
  • Smoked paprika
  • Sea salt
  • Laconiko Basil EVOO
  • Fresh lemon

PREPARATION

To start, make sure your shrimp are properly cleaned then place 2 tablespoons Basil EVOO in a large frying or stir fry pan after you let the pan warm up over medium high heat. Then use your spices to generously season the shrimp. If you like less to start, it’s always safer as to not over spice so you can add more if needed. This will be enough to get a great sear going so focus on getting every piece in the oil!

Once the oil is ready which is usually within a 90 seconds, use some tongs or a fork to quickly transfer shrimp one at a time into the pan in a single layer. Make sure your every piece can get this first searing.

Depending on the size and quantity of the shrimp, everything will cook rather fast so treat it as a stir fry for about 5 minutes after you put the shrimp in and it’s ready to turn. At this point and depending on the size/quantity, you may want to add a bit more Basil EVOO to the sides of the pan, letting it drip towards the shrimp.

Once you remove from the pan from the stove, don’t forget to turn the heat off and then leave it in the pan and drizzle them with your Basil EVOO, continuously stirring. Then, slice your lemon and squeeze over the dish in the pan as it sets while you prepare to plate it.

This is an easy, 15 minute dish that you can pair with literally anything or simply prepare it as part of a course for an evening meal. Enjoy!
