This is our Pride and Joy, Our family’s most Awarded Extra Virgin Olive Oil with a Grassy, Artichoke notes, pepperiness, freshness and a high 470mg/l of polyphenols(antioxidants). This is excellent on any dish and our go to oil of choice for cooking! It is great on salads, breads, vegetables, dips, pasta, and even great for cooking (sautéing, marinating, grilling). This is not your ordinary extra virgin olive oil. This is 100% unblended, REAL extra virgin olive oil from out private estate and single olive variety (koroneiki olive), which has a shelf life of two plus years do to our high antioxidants in our olive oil. ***Olive Oil HEALTH CLAIM
(Commission Regulation (EU) 432/2012) There is a EFSA approved health claim that only olive oils with 250 mg/kg of polyphenols or more can claim:
- Olive oil polyphenols contribute to the protection of blood lipids from oxidative stress. In order to bear the claim information shall be given to the consumer that the beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 20 g of olive oil.
(Commission Regulation (EU) 432/2012) Olive oil comprises mainly of the monounsaturated fatty acid oleic acid (C18:1). There is also a EFSA approved health claim on the unsaturated fatty acids:
- Replacing saturated fats in the diet with unsaturated fats contributes to the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels. The claim may be used only for food which is high in unsaturated fatty acids, as referred to in the claim HIGH UNSATURATED FAT as listed in the Annex to Regulation (EC) No 1924/2006.
