This salad is one of the most talked about and favorite in generations of culture!

To start, the best results come from the freshest ingredients! All of our recipes will be based on individual servings unless noted otherwise, so notate that when doing your shopping or create your meal plans! For this great salad, you will need:

INGREDIENTS

  • Feta cheese
  • Tomatoes
  • Cucumbers
  • Red onion
  • Green bell pepper
  • Kalamata olives
  • Sea salt
  • Cracked pepper
  • Greek oregano
  • EVOO or Infused for dressing

PREPARATION

We’ve chosen the Laconiko Greek Seasoning EVOO for this dish and as you may notice, there is no lettuce listed, nor any meats and very little instruction! This is a quick and delicious meal that can be paired with so many different oils and vinegars. With this cuisine being one of the Mediterranean staples, the preparation is the same if you want to add on grilled chicken, shrimp or any of your favorite meats. People may ask why, but as you look at the many variations online, a traditional Greek salad is served with a side of seasoned dressing or a vinegar/oil mixture. We’ve used the Laconiko Greek Seasoning as our dressing so no need for additional spices until you’ve tasted the seasoning in the oil, then you should add more to adjust your flavor level.

For an alternative version if you want to use some form of lettuce, rinse it in a colander then add you cherry tomatoes or make wedges, feta (often served in multiple cube-shaped cuttings), and Kalamata olives are the most listed on menus. In an American-style Greek salad they typically add pepperoncini (pickled hot peppers), bell peppers, radishes, onions and as mentioned, their favored meats.

To make this particular dish, rinse and then cut your vegetables and then place them into your salad bowl. Once all of your ingredients are added, then you’ll want to toss it to mix everything. Do not pour the dressing directly into the salad bowl as it will start to wilt the lettuce so place in a ramekin or dressing saucer. After you’ve got everything prepared, then plate it and add anything else you’ve planned to include in this dish and have a great time enjoying it!

When you travel and ask for a Greek Salad, make sure you look at the ingredients but after cooking and trying them all, you just cannot go wrong with this dish!
